Please read our COVID-19 Vaccine information and the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s complete vaccine framework for more information. One of the most effective ways to prevent against COVID-19 is still to regularly wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, rubbing vigorously and scrubbing all surfaces; wearing a face mask that covers your mouth and nose; and avoiding coming in contact within six feet of other people. Avoid large crowds.
Those infected with COVID-19 may treat their mild symptoms with over the counter medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen to reduce fever. There are several prescription medications available to those with more severe symptoms. Those with emergency symptoms may need hospitalization.
What is Variety Care doing to protect patients from COVID-19?
Variety Care is strongly committed to following all CDC guidelines and takes the safety of all staff and patients very seriously. We require masks at all times for our patients and providers. We are also limiting the number of visitors into the clinic to decrease the potential for increased infection.
All staff are screened upon entry into any Variety Care location with a temperature check and again at noon to ensure no changes have developed. We are seeing all patients for medical visits, however we have patients waiting in their vehicles until their appointments. If waiting inside the building we are ensuring they are more than six feet away from other patients, and attempting to keep sick patients out of the lobby areas.
Patients are screened with a temperature check and questionnaire upon arrival if they have a nonmedical visit and if showing any signs of illness, we are rescheduling these appointments to either Telehealth or another day (patient’s preference).
Lobbies are regularly sanitized to avoid the spread of possible germs, and our medical assistants are wiping down chairs upon picking up each patient for their appointment.
Telehealth is available to all patients as an option to receive medical care from the safety of your home We encourage this for anyone who is sick, but also if anyone is worried about getting sick, this is a great way to still get routine care from your provider as well. To schedule a Telehealth visit, call us at (405) 632 - 6688 and ask for a Telehealth visit. All of our providers are able to provide Telehealth.
Can I still see a doctor if I have symptoms?
Yes, we would love to see you via Telehealth if you have that ability, but if you prefer to be seen, you may still see a provider. Please make sure to mention to us that you are experiencing symptoms before your appointment so that the staff will be aware upon your arrival.
To schedule an appoint or be seen via Telehealth and talk to one of our providers over the phone or with a video chat, call us at (405) 632 – 6688 and request a virtual visit.
How does wearing a mask help prevent COVID-19?
COVID-19 can be spread by people who do not have symptoms and do not know that they are infected. That’s why it’s important for everyone to practice social distancing (staying at least 6 feet away from other people) and wear masks in public settings. Masks provide an extra layer to help prevent the respiratory droplets from traveling in the air and onto other people. There is now evidence that a mask not only protects others, but it also protects you.
