Variety Care Reno Hires Three Providers
Oklahoma City, OK – Variety Care is proud to welcome three new health care providers to the family medicine and behavioral health teams. All providers are accepting new patients now at the newly constructed Variety Care Reno, located at 4000 W. Reno Ave.
Phil Burke, PA-C, received his dual bachelor’s degree in health care administration and health information management from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He furthered his education by also receiving two master’s degrees in business administration and physician assistant studies. Burke’s well-rounded career in medicine and his years of experience in infectious disease will advance Variety Care’s offerings. He will lead the organization’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Program.
In Jan. 2020, Variety Care received a $250,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to increase HIV screening and end the growing epidemic in Oklahoma. In partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and HHS, the Health Resources and Services Administration has set a goal to end the HIV epidemic by 2030. The focus of this intent is to expand access and move HIV services from specialty care to primary care. Funds are being used to expand the scope of primary care to include HIV screenings and treatment. A new pilot program will also be launched to provide medication to individuals who are HIV-negative, but at a higher risk for contracting the virus.
Burke serves as the Director of HIV and Viral Hepatitis Service, educating Variety Care staff members on best practices in providing care to at-risk and vulnerable patients.
“Oklahoma is one of the seven targeted states in the south with the highest HIV burden in rural areas,” Burke said. “I am focused on helping end the epidemic in Oklahoma by offering Variety Care patients guidance and support on sexual health and issues impacting the LGBTQI+ community.”

Mouziane Deeb, PA-C, is a graduate of the Physician Associate Program at the University of Oklahoma. Her career includes 14 years of providing mental health services to patients throughout Oklahoma. Before joining Variety Care, Deeb served as an intake mental health therapist with Transitions Trauma and Abuse Center. During her time at the organization, she provided behavioral health services to individuals and families in need.
“My previous 14 years of professional specialty work in providing mental health services places me in a unique position to understand the interplay between mental health and physical healthy,” Deeb said. “I look forward to using my vast clinical experience and deep commitment to patient care to help more patients in Oklahoma City access behavioral health services.”

Mary Hines, MD, is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and the Medical University of the Americas. Dr. Hines completed a family medicine residency program at the University of Oklahoma focused on the effects of non-insulin antidiabetic drugs in adults with Type 2 diabetes. Her extensive background in family medicine will have a profound effect on the quality of care received by thousands annually at Variety Care Reno.
“I believe in treating people with the respect and empathy they deserve as I help them navigate their health and lives,” Hines said. “I look forward to working at Variety Care where their mission and staff are like-minded.”
