Taylor-Bristow Joins Variety Care as Director of Family Medicine
Oklahoma City, OK – Variety Care is proud to welcome Sheleatha M. Taylor-Bristow, MD, MPH, to Oklahoma’s largest community health center as the director of family medicine. Taylor-Bristow assumed her role on Sept. 12 and will be seeing patients at Variety Care’s Britton Health Center in November.
Dr. Taylor- Bristow graduated from the University of Oklahoma’s College of Medicine in 2010 and completed her family medicine residency at the Great Plains Family Medicine Residency Program in 2013. She most recently served as the medical director of Crossings Community Clinic.
“Variety Care provides access to quality health care to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged populations in Oklahoma,” she said. “The organization’s mission of making quality health care affordable and accessible aligns with my calling to be of service to disadvantaged communities.”
Dr. Taylor-Bristow is board certified in family medicine and has received several prestigious awards and honors during her storied career. She was an Ungerman Scholar receipt in 2007-2010 and received the Outstanding Graduate Multicultural Student Award from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2006. Her professional memberships include standings with the Oklahoma County Medical Society and the Oklahoma Association of Family Physicians. Dr. Bristow’s 10-year career in medicine also includes extensive community work most recently with the Neighborhood Alliance where she served on the nonprofit’s board of directors. She is also a founding member and vice chair of the Oklahoma Black Physician Alliance.
