Variety Care Celebrates Opening of Putnam Health Center at Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Variety Care celebrated the opening of Variety Care Putnam during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 28. The community health center currently offers pediatrics and urgent care and will be expanding to include women’s health and family medicine services. Variety Care Putnam, located at 11220 N Rockwell Ave., is now open and accepting patients.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony began with opening remarks from Northwest OKC Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Shawn Houk. The chamber is committed to helping businesses and organizations in OKC flourish. Houk’s opening message served as a welcome to Variety Care from the northwest OKC community.
“We welcome Variety Care into the Northwest OKC Chamber and into the community,” said Houk.
Variety Care Putnam is the organization’s 18th location. It is also the only Variety Care clinic to offer bone density screenings. During the ceremony, CEO Lou Carmichael emphasized the assortment of health care benefits the new health center will offer children and adults.
“At Variety Care, we aim to make our communities healthier and give people access to the health care services they need,” said CEO Lou Carmichael. “Among the many services Variety Care Putnam will offer, the predominant services will be preventative primary care and access to disease management through chronic illness management.”
Carmichael concluded the event by thanking a host of community partners for their commitment to serving Oklahomans.
“I think that part of the special sauce of a community health center is the community partners that align around the same mission that we have, to get people the care they need,” said Carmichael.
